POISSANTGALLERY announces the first solo exhibition of work by Houston talent Devon Moore.  Surface To Air explores the sublimity of abstraction by creating peaceful and serene images from the destructive qualities of natural materials. Drawing inspiration from erosion of man-made objects, Moore's work also addresses our conflict between the beauty of these materials and their inherent ability to aid in the destruction of all that is natural.

"Exploring the destructive qualities of nature's elements, I unearth the effects of their creative processes. I am inspired by the erosion of the prosaic; a can in the road that has been run over numerous times or the pitted rust on a bridge rail which leaves a rain trail along the worn column. I rework these elements to create a sense of infinity by shifting the scale into an atmospheric view. Representing the aesthetic characteristics of wear and tear and creating compositions that are balanced by randomness is my intention. The visual properties of my works are translations of found surfaces."

Devon has transformed the gallery into an environment of beauty and scale, emphasizing his translation of material into expanding landscapes of ethereal wonder.
